Auto Voice ID for the Icom IC-7760

Automatic, on-time voice station identification using the recordings stored in your radio.

What it does

• Counts down to your next required ID while you operate, and plays your recorded ID when it's due and the frequency allows.
• Plays a closing ID when your contact ends.
• Gives an early ID in slow group nets so you're covered before a long wait.
• Holds off while the frequency is busy, so it won't key up over another station.
• Shows an "ID DUE, unkey now" warning with a beep if an ID comes due while you're transmitting. It never plays over you.
• Shows at a glance whether it's talking to your radio: green for connected, red for not answering.
• Reconnects on its own if the USB link drops, and keeps a daily log you can review.
• Includes buttons for ID Now, a 73 sign-off, and Reset.

How it works

Your IC-7760 can store short voice recordings ("Voice TX Memories"), like "This is KB5XYZ." Auto Voice ID connects to the radio's USB port and tells the radio when to play them. The audio never leaves the radio, so there's nothing to wire up and no sound levels to adjust.

What you need

• An Icom IC-7760. This edition checks the radio model at startup and runs only on an IC-7760.
• A Windows 10 or 11 PC connected to the radio by USB. The IC-7760's second USB port works well if logging software is using the first.
• Your call sign recorded in one or more of the radio's voice memories.

Your responsibility

Auto Voice ID is a helper, not a replacement for the control operator. You remain responsible for proper identification and for your station's operation under FCC rules.
