1. Record your ID in the Voice TX Memories
Record your station ID (for example "This is KB5XYZ") in Voice TX Memory T1, and your closing ID (for example "... clear") in T2. CallMinder's settings let you choose which memories hold your ID and 73. How to record a Voice TX Memory is covered in Icom's IC-7760 manual.
2. Set the CI-V address
Set the radio's CI-V address to AA, which is CallMinder's default. The factory address conflicts when a PW2 amplifier is connected. Look up the CI-V address setting in Icom's manual.
3. Pick the COM port
Connect the PC to the radio by USB. In CallMinder's Settings tab, pick the COM port for the radio's USB port that no other program is using.
4. Test safely
Test at low power into a dummy load first. CallMinder's Simulation mode lets you try everything with nothing transmitted.
5. Squelch
CallMinder holds the contact open while another station is talking (squelch open). Set your squelch so it closes on an empty frequency. With squelch wide open, end contacts with 73 or Stop.
